Please read this Disclaimer carefully before using the GlucoBell mobile applications and associated services (the "Service"). By accessing or using GlucoBell, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Disclaimer.

1. Not a Medical Device

GlucoBell is a health tracking and management tool. It is NOT a medical device, diagnostic tool, or therapeutic device. GlucoBell has not been evaluated, cleared, or approved by any regulatory authority (including the FDA, CE, or equivalent bodies) as a medical device.

The app should not be used as a substitute for professional medical equipment, laboratory tests, or clinical diagnostics.

2. Not Medical Advice

The information, features, and content provided by GlucoBell — including but not limited to:

  • AI-generated health suggestions and recommendations
  • AI food scanning and nutrition analysis results
  • Blood glucose OCR readings
  • Blood pressure OCR readings
  • Health trend analysis and charts
  • Medication reminders and adherence tracking
  • Any other information displayed in the app

Always consult with a qualified healthcare professional before making any decisions about your health, medications, diet, exercise, or any other aspect of your diabetes management.

3. AI Limitations

GlucoBell uses artificial intelligence (AI) technology, including:

  • AI Health Suggestions: Generated based on patterns in your health data. These suggestions are probabilistic estimates, not clinical prescriptions. They require and are subject to doctor review and approval before reaching patients.
  • AI Food Scanner: Uses computer vision to identify food items and estimate nutritional content. Results are estimates and may be inaccurate. Actual nutritional values depend on exact ingredients, preparation methods, and portion sizes that cannot be precisely determined from a photograph.
  • OCR (Optical Character Recognition): Camera-based readings of glucometer displays, blood pressure monitors, and paper documents use machine learning that may produce errors. Always verify OCR-extracted values against the original source before relying on them.

AI technology has inherent limitations. It can produce incorrect, incomplete, or misleading results. Never rely solely on AI-generated information for health-related decisions.

4. Doctor-Approved Suggestions

While GlucoBell implements a doctor-in-the-loop workflow where AI suggestions are reviewed by healthcare providers before being sent to patients, this process does not guarantee:

  • That every suggestion is appropriate for every individual patient
  • That the reviewing doctor has full knowledge of your complete medical history beyond what is entered in the app
  • That suggestions account for all possible drug interactions, contraindications, or comorbidities

The doctor-approved suggestion system is designed to add a layer of clinical oversight to AI recommendations. It is a supplementary tool, not a replacement for comprehensive in-person medical consultations.

5. Accuracy of Information

While we strive for accuracy in all features, GlucoBell does NOT guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or timeliness of any information provided through the Service, including:

  • OCR-scanned glucose or blood pressure values
  • AI-estimated food nutrition data (calories, carbs, sugars, etc.)
  • Health trend calculations and visualizations
  • Medication interaction or adherence analysis
  • Any AI-generated text, recommendations, or insights

Users are responsible for verifying all data entered into or produced by the app.

6. No Emergency Service

GlucoBell is NOT an emergency service. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, including but not limited to severe hypoglycemia, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HHS), or any other acute medical condition:

  • Call your local emergency number immediately (e.g., 112, 911, 999)
  • Go to the nearest emergency room
  • Do NOT rely on GlucoBell or its chat features for emergency medical assistance

The chat feature between patients and doctors is designed for routine communication and is not intended or suitable for urgent or emergency medical situations.

7. Third-Party Services

GlucoBell integrates with third-party services and technologies. We do not control and are not responsible for:

  • The accuracy of results from OpenAI's AI models (used for food analysis and health suggestions)
  • The accuracy of Google ML Kit or Tesseract OCR text recognition
  • The availability or performance of Firebase, Cloudinary, MongoDB Atlas, or other infrastructure providers
  • Any third-party website or service linked from within the app

8. User Responsibility

By using GlucoBell, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of health data you enter into the app
  • You should always verify OCR-scanned values against the original reading
  • You should not use AI food analysis as the sole basis for dietary decisions, especially regarding insulin dosing
  • You should maintain regular consultations with your healthcare provider regardless of app usage
  • You are responsible for your own health decisions and their consequences

9. Research & Educational Use

If you opt into research participation during onboarding, your anonymized and aggregated data may be used for health research purposes. This does not constitute a clinical trial, research study, or scientific experiment. No guarantees are made about any research outcomes.

10. Fitness for Purpose

GlucoBell is provided "AS IS" without any warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We disclaim all liability for damages of any kind arising from the use of or inability to use the Service.

11. Geographic Limitations

GlucoBell may not comply with healthcare regulations in all jurisdictions. It is the user's responsibility to ensure that their use of the Service complies with applicable local, regional, and national laws and regulations.

12. Changes to This Disclaimer

We reserve the right to modify this Disclaimer at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes have been posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Disclaimer.
